A few months ago I attended a wonderful event on the Eastern Shore as a guest of the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and Cabot Creamery Cooperative (I do some social media work for them!) and I won this awesome cow-themed Kitchen Aid Mixer as part of a social media contest. Well I use it all the time and and I finally remembered to pull out my camera so I can document how we use this wonderful machine in our home. Thanksgiving Day, my youngest and I decided to make our famous lemon sugar cookies to bring to dinner. We first started making these when I went to visit a friend and her ailing grandfather. I wanted to bring him a treat but it needed to be something soft that he could chew. Enter Lemon Sugar Cookies that I found on Pinterest. Ryan doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies (just the dough) so these are her absolute favorite and she knows exactly how to make them.
Ryan is a pro with the zester
Look at that steady hand!
The mixer is so easy, even her little hand can turn it on (with mom’s supervision of course!)
Lamb apron, cow mixer. I’m sensing a theme here…
How delicious does that look?
Her favorite part – “testing” the dough to make sure it tastes right
This is just mom getting “artsy” with the camera
Super artsy…Self-portrait in the mixer bowl
And the final result – voila! Delicious tangy, sugar cookies!
Ryan approves!
