I first photographed the adorable W-Family back in April. They wanted some pictures as a family of three before baby brother came along. In talking to mom while taking her “belly shots,” we came up with a plan for me to come to hospital to capture big brother meeting little brother for the first time. I was so excited when I got the message last week that Shayna was in labor and that I’d be heading to the hospital the next day. I was the first person to see baby Sylas (what an honor!) and took the opportunity before Jacob got there to snap some pics of baby and dad. I love these moments. The pure joy. The immediate and unconditional love.
Once Big Brother got there, we switched gears and focus. Jacob wasn’t too sure about Sylas at first. The baby was crying and as you’ll see in the pictures below, Jacob was giving him the “Shhhh” sign with his finger to his lips. But he warmed up and held baby brother and all of sudden, they were a family of four. When I slipped out the door, I heard Jacob tell his mother that he loved his little brother. Perfect.
